The Next Hippo Fashion Superstar

Do you love thrift shopping? Do you love creating adorable stylish outfits? Want to showcase your thrifty fashion style? We are looking for you! The next Hippo Fashion Superstar is a thrifty fashion contest where you will come to the Back to School  2024 event and create a complete head to toe outfit to showcase. Then we will post pictures of your creation onto Instagram for the world to vote on. The winner will receive a $100 Shopping credit to shop with at Back to School 2024 event. Second place will receive a $50 credit and third place will receive a $25 credit.

At the Children’s event, you will be creating a head to toe outfit for a child and at the Teen/Adult event, you will be creating a head to toe outfit for yourself.

If selected as a contestant for the children’s event, you must come to the fairgrounds on Tues. July 23rd from 5pm to 7pm to create your outfit. If selected for the teen/adult event, you must come on Tues. July 30th from 5pm to 7pm to create your outfit.

The Official Hippo Runway Contest guidelines and rules

A selected number of contestants will be selected to participate in the Children’s Event Hippo Runway Showcase your thrifty Fashion contest and the Teen/Adult Event Hippo Runway Showcase your Thrifty Fashion contest. No purchase necessary to enter or win the contest.

1. SPONSORSHIP — The Hippo Events LLC is the sole sponsor of the contest. Facebook, Instagram and any other social media platform is not sponsoring or administering the contest in any way. The Hernando County Fairgrounds is also not a sponsor or affiliated with this drawing.

2. ELIGIBILITY
Any person 16 years of age or older that lives in the central Florida area is eligible to enter the contest. Selected contestants must be able to participate on the Hippo Runway Showcase day to come in and create their style. If selected for the Children’s Event, the showcase day would be on Tues. Feb. 20th from 4pm to 8pm and for the Teen/Adult Event, the showcase day would be on Tues. Feb. 27th from 4pm to 8pm. Contestants will arrive during the time frame on their showcase day and will create an outfit with accessories from any items that are on the sales floor. The events are held at the Hernando County Fairgrounds located at 6436 Broad Street Brooksville, FL 34601

3. HOW TO ENTER
The deadline for all contestant entries is Thursday Feb. 15th, 2024 at Noon. All contestant entries must be done through the link found on The Hippo Events social media platforms, or the link on www.TheHippoEvents.com  The contestant entry form must be completed and submitted by the deadline on Thurs. Feb. 15th, 2024. No other entries will be accepted from any other source. One entry per person is accepted. All entries must answer all required fields on the entry form. Contestants will be selected by the answers to the questions on the entry form. Selected contestants will be notified by Friday July 19th, 2024 via email and text. The selected contestant must respond to The Hippo Events with acceptance of becoming a contestant in The Next Hippo Fashion superstar by Saturday July 20th, 2024. If no response, another contestant will be selected. 

4. WINNER SELECTION
The winner will be selected by a vote on The Hippo Events Instagram page.  All contestants outfits will be photographed and put up in a post on Instagram where people can vote for their favorite outfit. Voting for the Children’s event winner will begin on Wednesday July 24th and will end on Friday July 26th at Noon. Children’s Event Winners will be notified Friday July 26th afternoon. Voting for the Teen/Adult event winner will begin on Wednesday July 31st and will end on Friday Aug. 2nd at Noon. Teen/Adult Winners will be notified Friday Aug. 2nd afternoon. One vote per Instagram account will be allowed. More than one vote per Instagram account will nullify all votes from that person. The winner will also be announced on our Facebook page and Instagram page.

5. PRIZE

  • Children’s Event First place price — a $100 shopping credit to use during the Back to School 2024 events.
  • Children’s Event Second place price — A $50 shopping credit to use during the Back to School 2024 events
  • Children’s Event Third place price — A $25 shopping credit to use during the Back to School 2024 events.
  • Teen/Adult Event First place price — a $100 shopping credit to use during the Back to School 2024 events.
  • Teen/Adult Event Second place price — A $50 shopping credit to use during the Back to School 2024 events
  • Teen/Adult Event Third place price — A $25 shopping credit to use during the Back to School2024 events.

 

6. Contest Period
The contestant entries begins on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 8:00 am EST and will end on Friday July 19th, 2024 at Noon. Contestant Entries submitted before or after the contestant entry period will be disqualified. All entries must be made through the online submission form. No other entries will be accepted. One entry per person is allowed. Voting for the Children’s Event will begin on Weds. July 24th and will end on Friday July 26th. Voting for the teen/adult event will begin on Weds. July 31st and will end on Friday Aug. 2nd at noon. 

7. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
Participation in the Hippo Event Runway Showcase your Thrifty Fashion contest either by a contestant entry form or by voting  constitutes full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of the official rules and the decisions of the sponsor (The Hippo Events LLC) which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these official rules and fufilling all other requirements set forth herein.
